The Sacrament of Baptism
"Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38).
Baptism is the Sacrament which cleanses us from Original Sin, makes us children of God, followers of Christ and members of His Church. At our Baptism God shares with us His Life and His Love which mankind was deprived of by Original Sin.
Baptisms are held each Saturday at 11:30 am at the Main Church on Still Road and in Spanish on the first and third Saturday of the month at 11:30 am in our Chapel on Stage Road. Arrangements should be made at least one month in advance. Preparation meetings must be attended. Please call the parish office for an appointment. (Please note that in danger of death, baptism may be administered immediately. If no priest or deacon is available at the time of the emergency, any lay person may baptize the person in danger of death by simply pouring water over the person's head three times while saying: I baptize you (name of person) in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.)
