You can help reduce the parish debt with no cost to you by purchasing ShopRite and Stop & Shop gift cards. Each time you buy gift cards the parish gets 5% of your purchase. Cards are readily available after Sunday Masses and from the parish office. There also is a network of neighborhood captains that always have cards available. Check the Sunday bulletin to see if there is a neighborhood captain near your home. Grocery cards are a convenient way for you to budget your family food shopping and to extend your tithe to the Church.

Sacred Heart Endowment Fund
Some 10 years ago the Sacred Heart School Parents Committee established an IRS approved, tax exempt Endowment Fund to help defray the costs of operating the school. The dollars donated to this fund are to be held in perpetuity and the income from the investments is paid to the school annually or is added back to the corpus to be reinvested to stem future emergencies.
The Trustees of the fund are the current parent board, the school principal and the church pastor. The board is directed by the terms of the trust and is limited to high quality stocks and bonds in the portfolio.
The success of the endowment fund depends on the parishioners. Some people use the fund as an alternative gifting source while others suggest donations in lieu of flowers for a funeral.
