The Saint of Monroe?

Sacred Heart Parish and the town of Monroe have been blessed with a rare, historical, and grace filled distinction. On April 16, 2013, Cardinal Dolan officially opened the cause for the beatification and canonization of Mother Mary Theresa Tallon, the foundress of the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate of Monroe, New York. She is now recognized by the title, Servant of God. It is our hope and prayer if it be God’s will, that she be given the title of Blessed and Saint. The timeliness of this occasion coincides with the Church’s focus on “the new evangelization,” the very mission that Mother Mary Theresa Tallon embraced as the charism of the community of sisters that she founded. A copy of the edict signed by Cardinal Dolan will be posted on the doors of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and our own parish church of Sacred Heart.   It can also view the edict on our website by clicking HERE.

God speed to her canonization! I guess she must have lived in Monroe. How can we find out more information about her cause. Is there a special prayer and 3rd class relic?

You write really good read, I think this article is full I feel a kind of cultural atmosphere, I hope the author can continue to maintain this mood, to continue to write articles so that more readers can feel this cultureatmosphere.

On this great feast day of "All Saint's, I hope and pray that this very special lady Mother Mary Theresa Tallon, will be soon counted among the Saint's in Heaven. What a great blessing this will be for all of the Parish Visitor Sisters, for all the people of the Sacred Heart Parish, and for the town of Monroe, and really for all of us. We can all pray for her Sainthood, ask for her intercession, read her great story and follow her example. Happy All Saint's Day!

That Church is blessed with tremendous graces. After I returned from praying for a Jewish friend I went to Sacred Heart for confession. My friend was on the end of her life. We prayed for her with a relic of St Therese, of the Infant Jesus. After Confession I knelt near the Blessed Sacrament. The perfume of roses overwhelmed me in the empty Church. In that Church is statue of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Thank you Mother Mary Theresa Tallon for founding your congregation and Sacred Heart Church. Nancy Reinauer
